Ogre Bull Unit Completed

Finished the full unit last night and opted for a different basing look than on the Butcher and Bruiser, both of which I will now redo.  Considering adding some Silflor flowers to the bases but overall pretty happy with the way the unit looks as is...

They look great John. A nice looking group of ogres. My only comment is that the blood just looks too much like red paint to me.

Thanks guys :)

@ Kuffeh - unfortunately I have to agree with you. I wasn't sure whether to apply the effect at all, but just went with it.

But looking at them again the other night I have overdone the red/blood. Will go back over the models and lessen the amount thats there and see what they look like.

Any tips on how to get the blood looking a bit more realistic?

That is some great painting. The trousers in particular are crisp and clear, and the skin is spot-on. Good work, and an inspiration.

Great looking figures, the red eyes are a nice touch. Blood seems to be quite difficult to do. Perhaps have a couple of layers, with the dried blood being a deep, dark maroon working toward the tips/edges being the final red mixed with a bit of gloss varnish for "freshness". Make the older, darker blood look more like splashes extending inwards away from the edges. I am no professional and I think that what you have done looks great.
