Bretonnian inspiration ahead?

One of the blogs I follow regularly is James Wappel whose painting quite frankly is out of this world. Looking at his blog this morning I saw that he has purchased some of Fireforge's Teutonic Knights and will be painting them up soon. Really looking forward to seeing what he does with them.

Best of all his post contained pictures of the sprues within the box set - check it out here.

Yeah, must admit James's work is a league apart!

Hi John,

it seems again that our projects align. Unlike yourself, I am not such a great painter and have been really trying to lift my Brets, but I have been having real problems with painting the horses. No matter what I do they look flat. A fatal problem if you want to paint a Bret army. Can we have a chat around this some time or do you know of a good guide? Or maybe a post on your proposed color scheme with a test model?

Most definitely happy to sit down and work things out with you mate. There are some good books on heraldry out there and I have some painting guides for Brets that I can share as well.

Working on a scheme thats going to mirror my family's Scottish routes at the present. More soonish...

Yes indeed, these will be very fun! I do have a few step by step guides on the blog for painting horses.

I enjoy painting those so much!!!
