Fun with weathering and rust stuff

Got some of the GW Technical paints just to muck around with and been having fun going over my entire Deathguard collection adding rust and bluey stains to all the metal bits.  Also grabbed some of the earth paint that cracks when you apply it thickly and gave it a try as mud around the tracks of my Leeman Russ.  Turned out quite well...

Deathguard Rhino & fun with green stuff

Did the green stuff work on this guy months ago but only got around to finishing the painting last night.  Not my best work, bit shit to be honest, but as its Deathguard its supposed to be rough.  Started work on modifying a 2nd Rhino for them but ran out of green stuff.

Death Guard - 4th Blight Drone complete

Been slowly working through my backlog of unpainted models which included my 4th and last Foetid Blight Drone....

Khorne Daemons off to a new home....

Bit the bullet and sold of all of my Khorne Daemons over the weekend - with the exception of my Bloodthirster as I love the model.  With the demise of the excellent Khorne Daemonkin codex and my complete dislike of AoS I really had no more reason to hang onto them as I never saw myself using them again.  One positive though I now have a spare shelf to fill up with Imperial Guard...

Leeman Russ completed

Finished my first Imperial Guard tank this morning.  Painting vehicles and large flat surfaces always a bit tricky when you only have the one small brush left that works but its turned out reasonably well.  Used same colours that are on my IG Troopers.

Harlequin Troupe

Working my way through my painting backlog. Finished off my remaining unpainted Harlequin players.  Changes to 8th meant I re-equipped many of them with Fusion Pistols.

Imperial Guard Commissar complete

Interesting figure to paint this one but he turned out fairly well in the end.  Slightly restricted in terms of colour at the moment as I had a massive clean out of my dried up and useless paints, and am down to just a single usable brush.

Harlequins vs. Orcs @ 1500pts

Another great game against Sam's Orc horde.  Said it before but damn I love Orcs such a cool army.  If Deathmasque hadn't come out with the cheap Harlequins I would have gone down that road.  So 1500pts which meant a couple of dozen Harlequins vs. 120+ Orc Boys - no worries.  Slightly different Harlequin list this time as I decided to use my Fire Prism because why not?  Recent codex update came as a nice surprise (cheers Simon) which not only makes Prism's cheaper but gives them the Leeman Russ fire twice rule.  Very nice.

Bugger me there's a lot of them

Sam's been doing some painting as well so his horde is looking damn good.  Remembered my rule book as well so we played a proper scenario going length wise with the 18" is -1 to hit scenario.

Battalion Detachment
Troupe Master - Fusion Pistol, Power Sword
Shadowseer - Neuro Disruptor, Fog, Smite
Shadowseer - Neuro Disrupter, Mirror, Smite
6 x Players - 3 x Fusion Pistol
6 x Players - 3 x Fusion Pistol
12 x Players - 4 x Caress, 4 x Embrace
2 x Skyweavers
2 x Skyweavers

Auxillary Detachment
Fire Prism - Crystal Matrix, Spirit Stones

Sam goes first.  The Orcs rush forward but I've remembered they can advance and charge so have kept everyone out of range.  But I forgot about (a) his deepstrike units and (b) the Pyschic power that allows him to teleport units across the table.... what happened next was well...

Ok so there's like 120+ of them and 27 of us so?!?!

Imperial Guard squad finished

Completed my first Imperial Guard squad yesterday.  Still haven't decided on a Regimental identity for them but there's no rush.  In photographing them I also realized that I left mold lines on several models which I have removed since taking the pictures.

WIP - Imperial Guard

Started my next army project this week Adeptus Militarum or as they should be called Imperial Guard.  Was inspired by my copy of the Guard index and a re-reading of several Ciaphus Cain and Gaunts Ghosts novels.
